Thanks, but I still believe there is an offence committed when someone claims or conducts themselves in a manner that allows others to reasonably believe they have expertise that they do not and the law expects them to deliver that expertise. If they do not, then an offence has been committed. (For clarity, a civil offence).

And your proof of that statement is? It certainly was explained as thus during my motor management law classes when I was studying for my professional qualifications. I have since seen no reason to doubt it.

Something has to suffer for carbon neutrality, whether it be the birds and wind turbines, deforestation for biofuels, or meltdown risk and nuclear. Conflating all the various "green" issues together is doing us a disservice, and it's not really that useful to compare carbon neutrality with habitats. Sad that local wildlife is suffering but that's unfortunately that's what happens when you share a planet with humans.

The time has arrived after months of waiting! We will start the Avon Ring Monday out of Droitwich. We shall go anticlockwise and will take the Avon locks very carefully whilst we travel upstream. I have reviewed David John's trip upstream the Avon and it look perfectly OK as long as one is prudent with the gate paddles. We have 2 weeks to complete the trip so time is on our side. If you see the 2 yanks on the cut, give us a shout!
