That second photo is horrific. I hope no one was on board. Is it/ was it a Sea Otter?

Sea Otter, yes.

I don't know how/when it happened. One of the RCR blokes said it had been there (immediately after the first bridge heading north out of Braunston) 2 weeks. We first saw it as we went through on the Wednesday two and a half weeks ago.

They were only there to survey it but did a bit of prep work and then decided to re-float it. Not sure why as they're not sure it will get towed away today and thought passing boats or rain (and we had some very heavy rain a short while ago) might well re-sink it.

Before we leave tomorrow morning I may go and have a look to see if it´s sill there/floating.

I completely failed to take a photo, but I have just seen Scholar Gypsy from a train passing through Ely.

I passed through Ely on a train yesterday; twice in fact. Had a good look at the boats but failed to spot any forum members. Unless 'The Boater' belongs to the forum member of the same name.

Most entertaining! But what a blessed relief that they don't really go at that speed.

I was waiting for someone to stick their head out of a hatch and shout “Slow down!”

...just as I was waiting for someone to say "They go past my mooring at that speed"!

Was that the dog house at the end, used to belong to martin?

Yes, paint repairs still holding up remarkably well. It's out most weekends around here.

Anyhow,  here's one that quite a few will not have seen yet, Hampton after its major cabin works at Warwickshire Flyboats. Splendid job.
