Cruising from Sawley to Mercia

Hi all,

Can anyone help with the following I have a cruiser 8 foot high and 9 foot 6 inch beam will I be able to get under all the bridges from Sawley to Mercia Willington Marina and will my beam be ok any help will be appreciated.

You have done the right thing posting on here but you need to ensure whoever replies has done the actual route on a similar sized boat as many publications are way off the mark and bare no resemblance to reality this is true of draught/air draught/beam and such as lock lengths. Just sayin like. :cheers: Of course the above poster is being helpful and it does look lie you need to lop a foot off the roof!! but.....................?

So the answer is "no - unless you can reduce your height".

The first headroom pinch point is the shardlow old A6  road bridge. If you can get under that, you can get to Mercia. Another of the same height just after mercia marina in willington.

 

Horninglow is Burton, at least 3 lower bridges that way.
