I think it must be very difficult for small enterprises such as this to make a go of it.  I must confess, I get most of my stuff online or from passing trading boats these days.  If I want a good old browse, I pop over to Uxbridge.

Blimey. First the pub now the chandlery. I wonder what they'll use the space for? I think it was a franchise arrangement so someone else might have a go.

I bought an anode from them when Belfast was on dock at Aylesbury. I phoned first and they didn't have one in stock but said they could definitely get one from Uxbridge by 11.00 the following day.  I paid over the phone and turned up the next day at about 1.00 to collect, but it hadn't arrived, and the chap there said his colleague shouldn't have told me it would be. So I had to take time out of the docking to make a second trip to collect it.  If that is indicative of other customers' experience, then I'm not really surprised they have struggled.

Unfortunately your experience doesn't surprise me at all.

Since operating independently stocks in there have been sparse to the point of almost non existence.

Whilst the operator has on several occasions promised to get stuff in for me, I didn't have a single experience where what turned up being what I had asked for, (and in one case it was the identical item to what he had on the shelf that was not suitable).  I soon stopped asking.

I very seldom now try it for anything despite only living a few miles away.

I'm surprised it has limped on as long as it has.

I can't really now see it being something that somebody else is likely to turn into a success story.
