Watford flight at Christmas

I am thinking ahead and would like to go through Watford Flight about Christmas either Christmas eve or Boxing day. How can I find out if the volunteers are there and if so at what times. If the Volunteers are not there is the staircase chained up, or are we able to proceed on our own.

Watford flight is now operational all the time, so yes you can use it on your own.

Watford is open 24/7, unless there is a stoppage.  It does not not require the lock keepers to be there.  Foxton is only open when lock keepers are present though.

Yes Watford open 24/7 now (stoppages excepted)  Strange that Foxton used to be self operated in the winter(not 24hrs) until they invented volunteers.  Now we are not to be trusted!
