Absolutely. Lovely time to be out and about.

And with the hoods up and the heating on you can cruise along warm and dry with the slow cooker bubbling away filling the boat with the aroma of your nice hot meal that will be ready when you moor up.

Bring it on.

That reminds me. I must take the electric blanket to the boat this weekend.

One of the benefits of boating after November is that you can see much more of the countryside once the hedges have lost their leaves. Unfortunately, especially near towns, you can also see al the rubbish that people have left in the hedges.

We are planning a trip from Banbury up the Ashby over Christmas, assuming CRT have finished their planned closures by then.

Not just in towns. This time last year the dying back of the vegetation revealed the mess that the fishermen had left at Drinsey Nook. It was truly shocking the amount that they had left. And this isn't a place frequented by many other then fishermen

The embankments on the Shroppie are quite amazing in January

Glad we fitted the engine bay heaters yesterday it was a bit nippy first thing this morning!

We hadn't realised just how cold it had dropped until we got off the boat to go to the car. We had been toasty warm on board with the heating on.

We discovered yesterday whilst putting the engine bay heater in that the exhaust had come adrift from the diesel heater and was putting the exhaust fumes straight into the engine bay. Needless to say this was fixed straight away and is now clamped up with more clips to hopefully stop it coming off again!
