Moorings

Hi all, We are about to buy our first boat this weekend, she is currently moored at Beccles in Norfolk. We have just found out that we can only keep these moorings till March 2018 so now we are looking for new moorings. We do not have a clue on where to start looking. We would like something around Norwich or on the river Great Ouse or even we don't mind moving it to our home county of Lincolnshire. Any help would be very much appreciated. We don't need to have any amenities, but would like to be able to park a car nearby. Thanks in advance

Welcome, Cleo. I think there's a word missing from your first sentence: are you about to buy this boat?

You mention the Great Ouse which, to the best of my knowledge, isn't connected by navigable waterway to Beccles. What type of boat is this? If it's a small cruiser you could take it there on a trailer (or for that matter keep it at home if you have a suitable drive or front garden.

Is this boat you are buying trailerable or sea going, if not you are stuck on the broads unless you get it lifted and shifted.

If you do Facebook there is a Norfolk Broads group that may be able to suggest moorings on the Broads

Parking is considered to be a pretty big and important amenity in the world of moorings, for which a premium is paid.
