Sea Dog
I recommend folk looking for the Philip's Navigator have a look at the different versions in a book shop before buying. There is more than one version and some are better for bridge numbers and locks than others. I have the Navigator Britain 1:100000 (1.5 miles to the inch). Whether this is the very best I'm not sure as it came as a present before I'd fully researched for myself. It is good though. It has bridge numbers, and shows locks but doesn't number them. Also, it's not 100% accurate, e.g. if I look at Hanbury Jn on the Worcs & Brum, it shows the Hanbury 3 on the Droitwich correctly but shows 3 locks on the main line there that don't exist (2 above and one below the Jn). I hope that helps rather than puts folks off this really handy atlas!

I pointed out that I backed it up to my desktop every day, so that if ever I lost it, I could just buy a new one and do a restore. He wasn't convinced. That very night, his diary was nicked from the back of his car... (no, not guilty, m'lud!) and ............... do you still have the record of your daily diary? btw he should have kept his Diary in his Office!
