LEO
Hi, CRT's contractors are starting works, leading to Chemical injections to overcome leaks into the cottages on one side of the lock. This will involve drilling two to three feet holes and injecting a resin sealant to try to prevent flooding into the cottages. Not sure if this will be through the lock walls or into the paved are alongside the lock. It is hoped that the lock will not have to be shut, but will be on restricted opening, works likely to last 2 weeks. Wonder if it will work, will it carry a 25 year guarantee like the old Chemical injection DPC's? L
alan_fincher
Lets hope the contractors don't go off site and leave maybe fifty 2" long bolts protruding from the sides of the locks, without anything guarding them, or any notices about the dangers! Staggeringly they managed this at the bottom Winkwell lock a few months back, and it is somewhat down to luck that no catastrophe resulted! I have been unable to extract an adequate explanation from CRT about how this could possibly have been allowed to happen.
Nightwatch
We saw the same at a lock somewhere up north,no idea where. There were warnings, and I think, large fenders.
