Lock is inoperable and Navigation is closed

A team are organising the repair of the paddle

That's good. I hope that this team will turn their attention also to the locks above Cropredy, where at least one paddle (two, I think) has/have been brok* for some months now.

 

* A past participle common in Derbyshire, and perhaps elsewhere.

Cheap at half the price! .... double it at least and bring in public floggings over balance beams for anyone dropping paddles rather than lowering them ... that'd sort the devils out!

Damn' right, that one at the entrance has had no gates for years. It's lucky that the water is at the same level on both sides of it.

It didn't used to be, but it's all drained into the Coventry now.

Lucky it didn't cause a flood! :P
