MoominPapa
The Morco D61E fitted to Melaleuca has developed a couple of related problems. 1) The temperature control (actually, water flow rate) control, the bottom knob, is very stiff to turn, 2) There's a small water leak where the spindle for this knob enters the water control assembly. My feeling is that these are related, and disassembly, descaling and a new O-ring is all that's required. The alternative fix is a new water control assembly, at £55, plus VAT. It would be useful if anyone has experience if dismantling the water control assembly. How easy is it to do, and how easily does it go back together? Should I be replacing the diaphragm as a matter of course? Are there gaskets I need to replace? I'm sure the forum will produce the wisdom I require. Cheers, MP. MoominPapa
I think a cunning plan is required, viz I shall attempt to dismantle the thing next time I'm close to a branch of Midland Swindlers which has a new one in stock. BEngo
Can't help with the fix, sorry but the preventive action once fixed is to turn the temperature control through its full range once a week when there is hard water in the tank. That will stop it scaling up. N
