mark99
On the canalworld home page there are a collection of selected (not by me) video links that never seem to change on right hand side of screen. How do I turn them off and get rid. Pretty sick of the big screen space they take up.
Wiltshire Moonraker
I don't like them either, I preferred 'New Posts'. You can use ABP (Adblock Plus) extension with a rule ||youtube.com/$domain=canalworld.net which will block ALL embedded videos across the forum, but I don't know how to be more selective. Jen-in-Wellies
They make the first page very slow to load as well. I'm temporarily back on 3G after accidentally cooking my 4G internet dongle thing by leaving it hanging in a window in direct sunlight on one of the four hot days we got this summer. The browser won't allow you to click away from the first page until it has contacted youtube and loaded and displayed the video links. Rather tedious on 3G. rusty69
Some browsers allow add ons that will block these, flashblock and noscript eg
Taslim
This is a very irritating automatic feature (one constantly recurring face in particular!) and I can find no way to block the link. That said, some of the contributions are great but I would prefer to chose to see the menu. Hopefully someone on here can find a fix. Mean time I guess I could print a screen and use the wonderfully symmetrical face for a dartboard.
