Continuous Cruising Car Cover

Insurance companies use post-codes to evaluate the potential risk arising for any given policy. My guess is that the premium you have been quoted reflects the fact that you have told the insurance company that the vehicle will not be left in a single place over the term of the policy.

Hi folks,

£700 would do us fine, the companies we've contacted have simply said they wont insure us!

We now need to get a car due to changing jobs, but although we have a postal address the insurance companies wont touch us if we can't give them an address where the vehicle is kept at night.

How can we fulfill our legal requirements without giving up the lifestyle we love (five years next month)?  Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the tips and comments.  We called the company mentioned in the article, sadly they were less forthcoming than they were for the boater above.  We finally got a quote out of them - £3,700 on a £1,500 car!

Obviously we're going to have to try to find a different way of doing it, please let us know below if you have any more ideas!

I was in the business for a while 30 years ago . Car insurers were sneaky then. God knows what they are like now. Im sure if you make a claim they are straight onto social media checking second jobs where you say you live hobbies etc...so they can catch you out.

The thing is people ask too many stoopid questions on line
