He hasn't had the time to attach the other end nice and loose like the tied one because he's hanging out of a window shouting at the other boats to slow down.

And it appears to be the back end of a Northwich motor going backwards.  I've never seen that before, sometimes it happens to chopped butty boats.

I  believe these images come into the group where artistic licence is heavily employed. Paintings and prints regularly appear on the stands at the Antiques for Everyone at the NEC. Some are quite accurate others are not.  Art for Arts Sake? to quote 10cc!

The first is labelled Stoke Bruerne,  which is just about plausible, although width of canal, offside moorings and arc of turn are all wrong, amongst everything else.

The second is labelled Braunston Lock, the only one which could fit is the one next to the Nelson, which has shrunk and is going to fall into the lock........
