Ryeland
Bird cage sand from a pet shop - it's nice and dry. Use a kitchen sieve to get out any big bits. Mask up the area, apply a good coat of gloss, sprinkle with plenty of sand immediately. Let it dry overnight, vacuum off the excess sand. Apply a thin top coat over the sand. lesrollins
Is it just best to sprinkle sand by hand or can I use some sort of application. Is kiln dried sand any good
Jen-in-Wellies
Sprinkle on by hand seems to work ok. The only stuff that will stick is the first to go down and soak in to the paint. Just add more till it stops soaking up paint and leave to dry. Vac off the excess when dry and overpaint to seal in. Jen
