system 4-50
Is it still possible to do diy boat painting under the big motorway bridge at Preston Brook? Or have the canal proprietors taken steps against it?
ditchcrawler
Well if you don't have a Bridgewater licence it would have to be a quick job

Dave 2
I painted my boat under Preston Brook motorway bridge many years ago, used both sides of the canal done one side on the towpath and I asked the owner of Claymore hire boats if I could use his land no problem, this was before Midland chandlers bought a bit of land to build there shop you could ask them. I had a Bridgewater licence so not a problem for mooring also It can be a bit of a wind tunnel at times my mate was a coach painter an done a cracking job. MtB
Wind under bridges seems to be a particular problem. Loads of dust sticking in your paint takes only one single gust. Doing it in the open air seems a better option to me.

I like doing it in the open air - but back to painting, dust can obviously be a problem but I fear rain more.
MtB
I really like those millions of perfect circles you get when it rains on your paint!
jam
Go up the T & M to the M6 bridge between Wheelock & Rode Heath. Doubt you would get disturbed there on either side of the canal, except by passing boaters.

Tom and Bex
How are you meant to secure your boat under these motorway bridges? All the ones I've seen have concrete edges both sides with nothing to secure to at all.
