The rather splendid vicarage by the bridge at the west end of the VMs in Kintbury used to belong to the author Robert Harris and boasted the type of floating duck house made famous by the Commons expenses scandal.  It possibly still does. 

Yes they still do the wood-fired home made pizzas, but not available every day - not yesterday, anyway.

Been to the Blue Ball three or four times now. The Otter is a fine ale. We had a Sunda lunch in there a number of weeks ago. That was good also. Seems it's a 'local' pub that does it of food. Big garden,granddaughter enjoyed herself.

Yes that it is a very splendard vicarage......if only I had the spare money..... 

 

we have made it down Hungerford after traveling down from Great Bedwyn with NB Grey Hare, of this parish.      Rest day here then slow cruise back through the Vale of Pewsey.
