The Ents
Hi all, We are moored at the South Portal of the Harecastle, heading South. What recommendations have we for Potteries Museums and other attractions of the area to visit please? Mike.
Cheshire cat
If you decide to do a visit to Wedgewood don't go late afternoon. The workers will all have gone home. Moorcroft is worth a visit and they do a tour. Their produce is very expensive. Gladstone pottery museum is the generic bottle kiln museum but it is a couple of miles east of the canal near Stoke Football Ground.
Richard T
Middleport pottery is canalside and has moorings. Its worth a visit. Hanley museum and art gallery is also good.
OldGoat
I read here (or elsewhere) that Wedgewood had become more of a Sales Experience in recent years. Hope I'm wrong. The films and museum used to be free but you pay to see demonstrations - so do some research first...
MHS
Wedgewood is well worth a visit. Go early morning and pay the small extra charge for the factory tour. The museum is interesting, but the tour is fantastic. Very skilled and friendly staff and guides, though don't expect them to chat if applying gold leaf!!
