Hello all. I would like to clear a few things up in regards to this feed. 

As a family friend and ex employee the company was handed down to the two sons from the original owner. As they did not want to carry on the running of the company it was sold to a private asset company, for them to sell off the boats. Due to the age of the original boats that were taken for scrap they had to look at buying more. This is also when they started work with hoseasons. The boats are pretty much all sold now. The company was still operating until the end of October 2017

The original boats must have been in a quite run-down condition if they were scrapped, as there is usually a good market for ex-hire boats. How long ago was that?

If the company was still operating at the end of October it must be from somewhere else. I passed there in mid July (both ways) and also early October (both ways), the site was empty and derelict.

The site was also advertised for sale earlier in the year.

Before we owned our boat we had a hireboat holiday on "Kerry" in 2008, she was very tired even then.

I believe A James is correct.

I purchased Romantic Princess in May 2017 from administrators. There was two other boats left at this time. Romantic Lady and a other. We all took ownership in May 2017. Romantic Lady was refurbished and sold on by new owner, I do not know anything further re a other, I still own mine.

We had the boat their for a few weeks after the purchase and heard lots of gossip from local people. Nothing I would repeat because I wouldn't know if anything is true. I will base my reply on facts.
