Problem with Sterling Power "Pro Power S" Inverter

And a seemingly daft question -

Is there anything connected to it that could be faulty?

That might stop it starting.

Try disconnecting everything - pull the plug - then tell me I'm wrong.....

..yes...changed the fuse in the plug...but don't think this is the problem....

...the inverter is now powering up...

...however, when i switch the inverter on the red light on the circuit breaker doesn't light up (but there is power coming from the unit) and when i switch off, the red light flicks on very briefly then goes off again...which suggests that there might be a fault...

...because the hoover works...

You say it won`t power up then the hoover works!!!!

Have i missed something.

When we had this type of problem it turned out to be the on/off switch.

We now leave the switch on and use the inverter isolator switch for on/off. A bigger beafy switch.

I'm not sure what this red light is - do you have a photo or better still, a model number of the breaker?

Suggest you check the small on / off switch first as it is easy to look at.

But his hoover works ;)

So it can't be that.
