Stenson Marina

Good. ( I won't say why)

I'll second that. Eddie and son build nice boats however a certain female whom l named the Stenson Bitch is probably one of the most obnoxious personalities I have ever met!!

Just my opinion of course.. However if she reads this and wants to test that opinion in a court of law I would be only too happy to oblige

Whilst not disagreeing with any of the above (though I did moor there in the 80s with no real problem) it is notable that unsubstantiated insults are fine as long as religion or politics are not mentioned.

As for the marina I'd love to buy it if I dropped 6 numbers tonight but, last time I was there, it looked like it needed a good half million chucking at it to bring it up to scratch.

We always liked the look of it as we chugged past when we were based at the much bigger Mercia marina a bit further up,the T&M.

There is a decent pub close by (or it was back then) along with a decent cafe at the nearby lock.

It was quite easy to get to also.

A good buy for someone.

I hope I can still moor there july and august like I have past 3 years, is the café not for sale. I think it belongs to them and also agree on the lovely lady there lol, otherwise I might have to go to the expensive one further along at whilington

The cafe is owned by CRT and was rented by the Stenson Marina, they gave it up about a year ago and is now rented by another family, they have made improvements and is still well worth going to for a hot chocolate / butty, gongoozling at the deepest lock on the T&M.

I cant think of any reason why you cant still moor for the summer there but I can imagine that it will become a really popular place to moor once the new owner tidies it up.

I was always under the impression that Etruria top lock was the deepest at 4.01m & Stoke bottom at 3.63m. Stenson comes in at 3.3M although 1is wide & tother's are narrow
