GoodGurl
Although there is a closure issued for the montgomery, does anyone know if you can go down at frankton? The first closure notice said this A leak has developed within the off side wash wall between Aston Locks 1 & 2 on the Montgomery Canal. Our engineers are currently investigating a repair solution that will bring the waterway back into use as soon as is practically possible. Navigation on the Montgomery Canal is therefore restricted to the winding hole above Bridge 76 at Queens Head until further notice Is this still applicable or have they closed the whole navigation? I was hoping to go down there in the next few days. https://canalrivertrust.org.uk/notice/3623/montgomery-canal-aston-locks Edited July 14, 2015 by GoodGurl
Phil.
You have to phone and book passage through Frankton Locks, you could ask when you do this. I suspect it is as per the current notice.
Flyboy
I read it as that you can go as far as the winding hole at bridge 76.

johnmck
Moored at the junction now. Boats ascended late this afternoon, so appears it is still open, but for a limited length. Good fishing here though.
