Montgomery Closed?

Although there is a closure issued for the montgomery, does anyone know if you can go down at frankton?

The first closure notice said this

A leak has developed within the off side wash wall between Aston Locks 1 & 2 on the Montgomery Canal. Our engineers are currently investigating a repair solution that will bring the waterway back into use as soon as is practically possible.

Navigation on the Montgomery Canal is therefore restricted to the winding hole above Bridge 76 at Queens Head until further notice

Is this still applicable or have they closed the whole navigation?

I was hoping to go down there in the next few days.

You have to phone and book passage through Frankton Locks, you could ask when you do this. I suspect it is as per the current notice.

I read it as that you can go as far as the winding hole at bridge 76.

Thank you, yes i know you have to book and i will ask when i do but i wanted to know if anyone had already tried to book, yes i read bridge 76 too but again i wanted to know if anyone knew.

Went past the junction today and it seemed to be operating ok

Moored at the junction now. Boats ascended late this afternoon, so appears it is still open, but for a limited length. Good fishing here though.

yep i spoke to the locky at Grindley Brook and he said your ok down to bridge 76 fishing is great there, had a few nice tench out last year.

Has the stoppage been lifted ? Nothing on Stoppages saying still closed. Had e-mail regarding closure, but nothing regarding repairs completed.

To reply to my own post. Repairs completed, serious amount of BIG piling installed. All open, good Sunday lunch at The navy !!
