Hi - Can anybody tell me if CoverIt (Cratch Covers) are still going. As have tried calling them but no reply and their website is not available. I don't want to just turn up and find out they are no longer there but desperately need a zip repairing.

What, Coverit? Anyway, I thought you had an s.

No, Mrs. Athy and I, being plural, have an "s".

Though my family are Derbyshire people, my paternal grandfather apparently moved there from Lancashire, so it's quite possible that my ancestors did come from that town.

As you are all probably aware by now, Coverit are no longer trading. If anyone requires canopy work doing ion the Lancashire area (Lancaster canal & Leeds Liverpool) then Amtrim will be more than happy to look at it for you. You can contact them on 01772 285100.

I had heard on the towpath that one of the employees from Coverit had taken over production (not sure if they have kept the name)? Is this not the case?

Their website is back up, though in a somewhat limited capacity. http://www.coverit.co.uk/index.html

When I was looking around for a new cratch cover earlier this year I tried to contact Coverlit because that cratch we had on was made by them and i was being lazy. I found out that they were no longer trading.

I did a lot of looking around and found that there was not a lot of choice around us - we are on L&L at Adlington.

I found a company in Nantwich that I can only recomend. They were 5 star and they just made it happen.

Call Hazel or Tim for a chat about any repairs or new cratch covers

Ive got nothing to do with them just a customer that has had great service and product

It's very nice that someone can find a good company and recommend them, and they could be perfect for us as we have a few wonky/definitely-misplaced studs with our cratch cover. A small job in our case, but one for specialists.

In similar vein we've just had our stern rail cushions re-upholstered by Stirk Bridge Upholstery (Rod) in Sowerby Bridge - not disappointed at all. 10 minutes walk from Shire Cruisers.

Shame Coverit is no longer trading. Our cratch cover was done by them 8 years ago is still an excellent fit although does need replacing now.

It is studded all the way round which in my opinion is a better job than the bungeed into position covers you see now.

Our Coverit covers are great and were fitted in 2005. One does need a little repair after an incident with a big branch last year :) Other than that i think thee are a few years in them yet.

Are Covert and Coverit connected in any way? Similar area, similar name?

Hello: Catweasel

My husband is David and he worked at Coverit as an employee for 20+ years. After things happened, we set up our business - Covert Boat Covers in a work shop in Manchester 2015.

Every job we do is bespoke and each job is patterned as to customer needs etc. We use marine quality material and stainless steel where possible.

We hope this information is of any help.

Many thanks

Hi David did the covers on our first boat on the L&L at Parbold when working for Coverit. He did a great job (must be about 14 years ago now.)

Do you carry out repairs?

Run by Gary who was part owner of Coverit. Covert did our covers seven years ago so saw local announcement of change and contacted Gary when needed some restitching. Great service and they didn 't even charge because it was only a few minutes of a job. No connection except as satisfied customer
