I've heard that the production company didn't hire the boats or pay for "crew" this time, they expected them for free, unlike Tim and Pru's jolly where they hired the boats around the cut. My mate earned a butty crewing the Shire that came up to Summit on the Rochdale and AFAIK there's been an increase in Shire hires coming up to Summit. Trouble is, the pound before Summit level, with the swing bridge, goes up and down for fun, boats are supposed to wind 2 pounds down, but I've met those who "want to do as Tim and Pru did" and have to reverse back a pound and a half. (should that be in grammes, for the younger members?)

I heard that there was a new series being made with John Sargeant called Barging About Britain a while back, but have not heard when it is to be aired, does anyone know when it is going to be on?

 

Don't know about the TV series but it looks like the book is about to come out:

I heard that there was a new series being made with John Sargeant called Barging About Britain a while back, but have not heard when it is to be aired, does anyone know when it is going to be on?

According to this link it was supposed to air before the end of last year.

The link I gave above states that the programme will be shown in February, the DVD is not available until April..

On E4 yesterday I saw a clip advertising new and original series starting this Spring and there was a shot of Pru and Tim, I wonder if they have a new series too?

 

Went through Banbury last Autumn and Tim & Pru were filming there so we assumed a new series was being prepared.

This link would seem to suggest a date in March for start of screening of the second series with Tim & Prue.

Look forward to the Liverpool bit as we did the Liverpool link last Aug/Sept & loved it.Liverpool is fantastic.I come from Chester & used to go shopping in Liverpool as a child,today's Liverpool is just superb,can't praise it enough.If you haven't been...go !
