Caldon Canal Bridges???

Hi everyone. Thinking of going up the Caldon next week, but we have a roof box on top and have heard there are some very low bridges (8,9 and 10). Has anyone done this canal and have they managed to get through with a roof box. Our height is 6ft 3ins with the box.

Hello, we went up the Caldon at easter, The very low bridges are at the begining as you go through the industrial part, past the old factories in Hanley, for two of the bridges we had to remove our chimney, but the rural part we had no problems, nora

I haven't been up the Caldon for a few years but the IWA give the maximum boat height (limited by Br 10 as 6'2" https://www.waterways.org.uk/waterways/canals_rivers/caldon_canacaldon_canalp

Currently on Caldon with roof box. Made bridges with box but had to take chimney off for 1 bridge, I think it was 9. Did hit something under the water going through bridge which stopped my engine, so caution required.

we came back from the caldon yesterday and got through with our top boxes in place.
