Harry on Linneyshaw helped us when we first got the boat and could not start it one morning - he found a hidden fuse underneath the engine.

Last year we stopped near Venetian Marina to try and assist a fellow boater remove a tyre from around his prop. We could not access it but Harry happened to be passing and he was the only one small enough to gain access and remove it.

Yep was dead impressed that mum & dad made it to Burton today - we weren't expecting them until tomorrow.

Had a very nice couple of beers with them in a pub that Smelly introduced us to - The Old Cottage Tavern

Just to add to where we are now,we went onto the River Trent after waiting two days for the water to go down, first time we have been on a river so was not sure what we were facing,it was very fast and very wide,we are now moored on the river Soar with Iona

It really does feel like Groundhog day here in Loughborough! Tuesday 24th April we arrived here, intending to stay two days to explore the town and get our laundry done, then move on to Nottingham. Saturday 5th May and we're still here! On the one hand we have to be grateful that we have all required facilities to hand but we really really hope the locals who are sagely shaking their heads are wrong and we'll escape this weekend!

Wish us luck!
