Trouble around Victoria Park

London is now a giant immigrant camp, for every failed countries runaways.

As an immigrant in London (in Hackney for the last 4-5 years!) I find some of the views expressed in this thread completely offensive as well as ridiculous. I hope a moderator will step in and do something about it.

I agree. Bring race into the discussion is sad and narrow minded. I work in Tottenham and every race has its goodens and baddens.

I have also moored in the East of London may times and have never had any problems.

My advice if someone approaches you is to; Start dragging one leg, lower your head, look up through your eyebrows and say

“Llow it man, I aint want no Beef, your Butters init” and then kiss your teeth (suck in between your tounge and teeth) then you’ll be fine!!!! (Please don’t try this)!

Well, immigration into London is hardly a new thing is it. I blame the Huguenots, the Normans and those bloody Romans

What kind of place is that for a Celt to bring up their children?

IIRC there was no London before the Romans

Do you think this tactic would also work well in Manchester Too? There's plenty of 'goodens' there, but the three white lads that approached me certainly didn't come into that category!

Ooh! I mentioned their ethnicity, does that make me racist.

I think this current government are racialists against Cornishmen what with that new pasty tax they've just brought in.

You will note that we have strategically placed pasty shops around London, to feed our army when "one day" comes. ;0)

:ninja: I think there’s about 20,000 of us already here dreaming of a way that we could afford to go back home!

I don't want to go back there, its full of emmets, took me 30 years to get away!

There's 20,000 cornishmen waiting to march on London! .......... ONE DAY......one day .........one day

They'll need to get past the good folks of Devon first though, mind you if they know they're not stopping I guess they'll let them pass !!

Ironically the one place where I see a true acceptance of diversity is amongst young people in London. Quite impressive I think.

That's because they have little other choice!

You should rightly be hammered for that quip!

Sadly, that may never happen, as all of the suits from the south have paid ridiculously overpriced fees for your lovely Cornish cottages, only to occupy them every 31st of February.

Do any of us have a choice in diversity?

Yes, if we adopt the stringent vetting process that's employed by the likes of the Australians. By adopting an 'open door policy' here, we are now reaping what we have sowed. Why would any rational government allow people from other countries with criminal records settle here? We have enough of our own criminals to deal with already, our prisons are bulging with overcrowding issues.

Diversity is welcomed where people come here with something to offer. My wife has been treated by surgeons from various other nationalities whom are all excellent at their professions. There's a wealth of talent to be tapped into from abroad. By all means let's take advantage of this pool of resource, but show me a man who would let a criminal into his house and I'll show you a fool!

The point I am making is that you and others have made a leap from trouble on the towpath to the countries immigration issues. I have no doubt that there is an issue with the way we run our country but I don't understand what this has to do with mugging in Victoria Park.

Surely, as I stated previously, WJM's post #23 indicated that in his particular experience, the trouble on the towpath originated from a 'gang' of ethnic 'Yuff'.

As much as you may wish to colour over the problem, ethnic crime does exist, as does crime originated from 'home grown' criminals. The difference is that because of our ethnic appeasement attitude, it is quite often hushed up for fear of upsetting the minority groups. Where's the rationale in that?

Not so much a leap, more of a natural conclusion.

To use a discussion about muggings to legitimise your racist crap is both cowardly and distasteful. No-one in this topic has mentioned the ethnic mix of the people carrying out the crime in this area.

And what conclusions would you draw if you were mugged by a gang who had a mix of black and white?

And that's the rub, ethnic crime? Home grown crime? There is no point in making those references within this thread because the bottom line is people are getting mugged by people. This has never been a debate about the rights and wrongs of immigration or a police line up so forgive me if I have read between the lines.

We clearly come at life from different places and perhaps will never agree on this, happy to leave my point there.
