Yes,

Sadly it's not a spot that our typical timetable allows us to moor overnight at.

Shame, because I would if I could!

(Actually, I have heard there is more to that sign than not just wanting any boater to moor opposite).

Or just send them a letter, on BW headed notepaper.

"Dear Householder,

It has been brought to our attention that you have, helpfully, erected a sign to warn boaters of the shallow water opposite your property.

Thankyou for your concern. This matter has been noted, and so on the 5th October, as part of our regular winter stoppage programme, this stretch will be dredged. A diesel dredger will be used, and for your convenience we will attempt to adhere to a maximum noise level of 100 dB. Please do be aware that, due to the silted and anaerobic nature of the canal bed, there may be noxious smells during the works.

This work is scheduled to take one month.

Thankyou again,

Squiggle

We tried to make use of the shallow depth here to try and get our rudder back into the skeg. One very cold spring Strads stripped down to his undies and slipped into the water to try re site the rudder. I was sure someone would come out and tell us to go away but no one did!
