  1. River trips and charter hire on the Nene at Peterborough. http://www.keyferrycruises.co.uk
  2. I have been advised too, to keep the fuel tank well topped up since it helps to avoid condensation therein Regards Bob
  3. Cheers Alastair - I am talking about scaffold poles, but attached somehow directly to the boat. The location is not a problem in terms of danger to other boats. The issue is about making the boat safe from vandals or burglars for a lengthy period, by making it difficult to get onto it.
  4. DS al coda is actually a musical term, Maffi. DS is the abbreviation for Dal Segno and means 'return to the sign (looks a bit like a dollar sign) and play the music to the word "fine" or to a double bar with a pause sign above it.' al means 'at the ' or 'to the' Coda means 'tail' So DS al coda means 'go back to the sign and play from there to the end.' You will find it normally appears towards the end of a piece of music. The musical pattern will have been repeating, but this in effect gives the player a completely new piece of music with which to finish off the piece. Regards
  5. I guess this may be more relevant to river users, but I am trying to find out what is involved in pole moorings. I have been advised to consider pole moorings as a means of secure mooring on a river, primarily for longer term security. I have seen a rather Heath-Robinson affair that uses poles and chains and tyres and puts the boat safely about 10 feet out into the river (no issues here BTW on approval - it's a concrete mooring and all OK with the owner) Does anyone have any pictures, drawings, designs, comments, suppliers (though I gather most of these are 'home made') or even examples that I could visit (East Midlands area). Many thanks.
  6. I'm due to repaint the top soon too, but hope to get away with a rub down. What paints do experienced users recommend please? I'm presuming International Yacht Varnish for the interior and Sadolins for a little bit of exterior woodwork - unless you know better!
  7. I presume "remote" means not directly under the cistern. Why does that make a difference to the "Blue Stuff". I thought the blue stuff was put into every pump out tank to get the chemical reaction going and keep it sweet?
  8. Don't you find that if it's raining hard, the rain puddles at your feet and then finds its way further inside?
