  1. Hi all, please can I have some guidance on hull painting. I wish to do a good job and understand that Bitumen is not a rust inhibitor. I wish to paint the hull in black above the water line to smarten up the boat and give a bit of protection. I paln to lift the boat out next winter to do a full blacking but in the meantime wish to give a coat of protection. Thus: I paln to wire wool back to create a binding surface and use a degreaser on the steel then apply red lead or rust eater and an appropriate top coat. What are the best paint treatments to apply?? Is this the right way to do this?? Many Thanks Phil
  2. Hi Graham and Jane, I came through Dudley Port yesterday and think there may be access but can't be sure from where. I've driven underneath plenty of times and think there is access from the main rd.... There is of course much easier access at Tipton as I'm sure you are aware but this is of course not ideal as it is a good 30min walk... I work not far from Dudley Port in West Brom and I'll do a recce for you, please let me know if you still need to clarify.
