  1. Done it many times , in an old 70 footer, you should have no problem
  2. Apparently , he had never spoken to the neighbours about it , maybe if he had , this wouldnt have happened , and yes barking dogs can be annoying , we have one near us , barks almost all night , as it lives outside, we have politely asked is there any chance they could let is sleep inside, the 2 nd word was off, guard dogs dont go inside , so I feel your pain , as we have it day and night
  3. apparently because she barked , was the reason , its a dreadful situation , I wouldnt be able to live next door to them . Moored there lots , been through the locks and in the pub lots , never heard Meg bark , They had a tracker dog arranged for today , and as the tracker dog and owner were there , getting the smell of Meg from bedding , the police and rspca were next door , they were told the sad news
  4. The police and RSPCA were there this morning , I hope he gets the maximum sentence , it still wont be enough
  5. very sadly Meg has been found , and the neighbour has confessed to drowning her , words fail me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. ok thanks, should have checked , but at least its brought it back up to the top
  7. I hope this is ok , to post , here UPDATE COPIED FROM DL POST:- As a result of police inquiries, it is thought Meg could have been dumped in a bag near the gated road at Norton or in Draycote. Any help with searching would be much appreciated. MEG is presumed STOLEN. Police are now involved with Meg's disappearance. Because of info given, it is thought she could be anywhere within a 50 mile/hour drive of her home (inc Rugby area/ Draycote Water). Female Border Terrier. Missing from Buckby Wharf, Northamptonshire, NN6 area, (Central) on Saturday, 26th July 2014. MICROCHIPPED. Disappeared from garden mid morning from garden off slip road on A5 by canal/near New Inn pub. http://www.doglost.co.uk/dog-blog.php?dogId=72514#.U9iqYGK9KSM CONTACT: 07738544706
  8. He was recognised , but nobody acknowledged who he was , just treated them as they were folk on a boat, nobody special , and yes they did hotel it , and arrived daily with hampers , so I wouldnt call it a proper boat holiday lol
  9. We had one come all the way to Bedford with us , a few years back
  10. Shouldnt we all just worry about what we are doing , I paid my licence and moorings , and yes it was annoying that I struggled to do this and others werent , but my conscience was clear . I have far better things to do than concern myself , with other peoples business, and I know for a fact that what was told by another boater to the o p , is fact , I have heard it being said , just move for half an hour every 2 weeks and that will be fine . Then of course there is the snitch boat at Stowe Hill, who logs every boat that moors , and times them on the water point, during the winter months . It really is pathetic .
  11. We had 3 dogs on board for almost 13 years and never had a problem , I would say dogs arent stupid , but ours now sit round our electric fire , just the coals glowing no heat on . bless lol
  12. We actually got housing benefit for the last 2 years , whilst we were on a B W mooring, as there were no facilities , ie water rubbish , we didnt have to pay council tax , in a marina , its different . We have now moved to a bungalow , and are loving it , but not the council tax bills lol.
  13. We did it.. We had been told a few stories that made us wonder was it wise..but had no problems and enjoyed it.
  14. Weedon surgery is used by lots of boaters and is rxcellent
