  1. Come to think of it, I've never heard the buzzer. On videos, I'm sure I've heard it sound when the ignition key is turned on - is this right?
  2. Its a 3 cylinder Isuzu. On the panel there isn't a gauge, just a warning light. Something to try. Also, it doesn't seem to be connected to the buzzer as there was any warning other than noticing that the light was on. Another job to do when I'm next on the boat.
  3. Thanks again for more replies. To answer some of the points raised .... We have had the boat a few years and this is a recent issue. After bleeding the skin tank, I ran the engine for about an hour and felt the pipework for temperature rise. I also checked the skin tank which was warm at the top and cold at the bottom (unfortunately I wasn't able to do this after the light came on). Would a faulty thermostat take 3 hours to show? Also, I will check the engine temp once I can get a thermometer. As always your help and advice is appreciated.
  4. Thank you for your replies. Everything seems to be working as it should, the water flow through the system is fine (thermostat works, skin tank has been bled) its just that after a run of 3 hours the pesky light comes on. We can get it to go by running off hot water from the calorifier and i will take on board your suggestion as to what I can look at. Thanks.
  5. I'm looking for some help with an issue. The water temperature warning light comes on after about 3 hours cruising - any ideas as to why and what can I look at?
  6. Update on this : Problem solved with replacement of the mixer valve. Purchased a new one from Mack Engineering and fitted easily. Looking at the failed valve, the centre that is supposed to slide has stuck solid. Looks like limescale-like deposits inside. thanks for you help with my issue, it was appreciated.
  7. It's six years old so out of warranty. Just wondering out load if a bit of percussive maintenance might cure it?
  8. Apologies for not posting earlier but work gets in the way of the life I want. It is a Surecal calorifier and the hot water comes up from the centre to the mixer at the back. Below is a view onto the top of the mixer and the outlet at the top goes to the taps and has the pressurised tank tee'd into it. It's the same as Alan's picture only on a vertical cylinder and, from memory, all of that was on the calorifier when we bought it a few years ago. The water system was working fine but, when we came to use it a couple of weeks ago, we had no hot water. Even the other half will contest that I haven't been 'messing' with the plumbing.
  9. I have hot water in the calorifier but when I run the taps, I'm not getting hot water out. In pic2, the brass bit showing front to back is hot but despite adjusting the black control knob (top right) there is no difference in temperature.
