  1. At present we have it on charge mode but still red alarm LED
  2. More than likely, but if we are connected to mains that shouldn’t be an issue? What other information would you need to be able to help further? Cheers
  3. When we switch it to “on” it flashes on the red alarm LED. Despite being connected to the off sure power. I have no idea what I was expecting to happen, besides it working hahah! But, that doesn’t seem to be the case
  4. It was fitted at Longport Brokerage, don’t know the name of the chap who fitted it though
  5. Yet another query, sorry folks. after almost buying a rubbish inverter, we took all the lovely advice off you guys and got a victron inverter/charger. For a few days whilst cruising we managed to get some use out of it, but feel like the leisure batteries may have seen the end of their days. Our issue now is though that whilst connected to mains electricity we still have no use in our inverter/charger. Like, nil puit! Have we bought something dodgy? Are we still that novice that we haven’t sussed it out? Can anyone (in simple language) spell it out to us? cheers in advance!
  6. Calorifier is buried away, under a bed. Which makes it a pain.
  7. Thank you guys, at some point I won't be completely useless at this! Need to suss out our calorifier to find out if it has an immersion heater
  8. Thank you guys, I'm hoping that we can cope! We will have an on shore power source at the marina but for the life of us don't know if we have an immersion heater. So, was thinking of getting this little thing; anyone have any experience of using this, or something similar: https://www.energybulbs.co.uk/redring+10+litre+unvented+undersink+water+heater+-+ew10+/4106560752?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4Ma6zIeC1gIVVYuyCh2OvARSEAkYByABEgLQ-fD_BwE#productDescription
  9. Sorry to be a burden, again! If a boat has a water calorifier for heating water the engine has to be on right? So, can anyone recommend a better way or the best products for water heating? Because showering at 5 in the morning in a marina with an engine running is bound to annoy the neighbours no end. cheers folks!
  10. Oh really? Well as long as a hum is the least of the problems, rather that than a bang, cloud of smoke and a clout! I think Victron is in order. Moral of the story don't order anything without the ladies permission! Haha
  11. Okay, that's not too bad. At least while we are cruising it'll charge to accommodate that. That's a positive, if I can I'll make a quick change and get either MasterVolt or Victron. But I'm definitely getting mixed reviews so far It's not been dispatched yet, so, I think I'll cancel that order before it has chance to leave the lot! I did, fortunately, the order hasn't been dispatched. So I'll cancel it quick sharp and order something else. Any recommendations?
  12. Oh fiddlesticks! That's not what I needed to hear, but so far I'm reading mixed reviews on them. Where is best to get a victron? Obviously, I want the best for the boat, and for the crick in my neck to go!
  13. Hey folks, I may have made a rash purchase of the following inverter/charger (much to the annoyance of my partner, I'm in the doghouse). Can anyone give me any reviews or know of anyone who - hopefully - rates this as to stop me sleeping on the couch. Cheers! http://www.force4.co.uk/sterling-pro-combi-q-12v-1600w-inverter-charger.html?sqr=Inverter&#.WYbrDTx4WEc
  14. Hey guys, the boat me and my partner have bought has had the inverter removed. Can anyone give any recommendations of inverters we could get? We have (at the moment) 1 starter batteries, and 2 leisure batteries. any advice would be grand. ps I'm aware this is probably a FAQ, sorry!
  15. Ahh I know that side very well, lived in Prestwich, now Radcliffe (now you can see why I want out!)
