Yes breach is between Polmont and Muiravonside.

Union Canal Scotland has breached near Polmont after very heavy overnight rain. Water now flooding adjoining Edinburgh to Glasgow railway.

Thought at first it was yours Haggis especially it being where it was. Ps put this in wrong section. Not sure how to move ??

Our shareboat used to be based at Gailey. Just recently sold. Maybe just as well. Would not fancy being in the middle of that complex. As for the gailey marina plans as far as I know its on hold due to costs but plans have been approved and still are current. Looking at these plans it would not impact on the marina apart from the surrounding views/noise and traffic. Not good though.

I can confirm boat 'Twelve' is no longer a share boat based at Gailey. It has just been sold to private buyer.

The new cut can be seen well with new lock as it goes under the road from grangemouth to skinflats. Easy to park just short of bridge. Not sure if you can get access yet to towpath as its not open yet. Fozzie

The main issue with this guy at Great Haywood is that he had started to go further than help at the lock. He had started to knock on boats at all times including ours at 10.40pm to state he was doing a 'night patrol' for 'the waterways'. This alarmed a number of boaters including ourselves. He was wearing a yellow jacket and had a torch. Anyway reported to police and CRT who both said others had complained. Hence CRT issuing advice.

Had a similar incident last week at Great Haywood. Guy knocked on boat at 10.40pm. We were all in bed including our grandchildren. Got up to check and he claimed to be doing 'night patrol' for 'waterways'!! Thought he may have been seeing if anyone on board before breaking in. Anyway told him to 'move along' !! Reported to police canalwatch.
