  1. Hi jddevil, thanks for your very detailed reply, it sounds great .......................I'm assuming that you glued the vinyl to the former, the floor and as you said dressed all around the raised division (I'm assuming you pushed the vinyl tightly into the raised section corners and edges to make it look like an integral part of the floor ? ) Did you take the vinyl up the walls slightly ?, if so did you weld the corners ? The doors sound like a really good idea, I was thinking along the same lines but could not find anything suitable so thought of using a shower curtain right across the room to try to avoid soaking the toilet, sink etc when using the shower (your idea of the raised division would work well with this) Id love to see some photos even if it is unfinished ........................... 2. Back on the wetroom subject. We hired a narrowboat last year, we were so impressed with her and we had a great week. We enjoyed it, and many previous canal holidays, so much that we have now bought a narrowboat that we are currently re-fitting in reverse layout. The boat that we hired last had a vinyl floor (with vinyl that curved up all walls ans was neatly welded at the mitred corners) wetroom which was fantastic, very clean, modern and functional. I would like to put one in our boat 'Garoline'. I am hoping that someone on here might have some photos or details of something that they have seen or have themselves and possibly details of a decent vinyl wetroom installer ? Many thanks Gary, Caroline & Garoline.
  3. I think that I would cut a aluminium or steel disc 20mm bigger than the hole, use plenty of decent silicon sealer and use pop rivets to fix it.
  4. I had a similar thing two weeks ago. I hadn't been to the boat for a week but when I did it was flooded at the stern end. I initially thought it was the tank but a friend said that as the pump was still trying to run it meant that the tank was ok and there was a leak after the pump. My tank is right at the front the water pipes go from it towards the stern halfway along the length of my boat is my pump, so I started checking from there and sure enough I found a very small jet of water coming from the calorifier. I replaced this and now the pump does not run unless I turn on a tap and there are no leaks .........................................................
  5. Thanks for all of your replies. I will be getting a coal/wood burning stove but not ready for it yet. I will remove the room stat and stop touching stuff that I dont understand ...............................
  6. Ive tried wireing in a room stat but it works for a while and then on the 2nd or 3rd time of turning off when the temp set on the stat is reached it does not turn back on. I get the feeling I have either wired incorrectly or the webasto start timer has done its 3 starts then will not start again ? is there a way of clearing the 3 programed start times so that it just starts and stops when the temprature reaches or falls below the set temperature ? Any advise gratefully received ............... thanks Gal.
  7. webasto thermostat

  8. I have fitted a basic Honeywell thermostat. I have to press the ignition (flame emblem) webasto timer/controller https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=webasto+timer&espv=2&biw=1600&bih=739&tbm=isch&imgil=_nyvO02y2ETFsM%253A%253BED1-pY-W4NgA1M%253Bhttps%25253A%25252F%25252Fwww.butlertechnik.com%25252Fwebasto-heater-parts-c111%25252Fclearance-webasto-heater-digital-timer-1530-12-volt-35967b-p2423&source=iu&pf=m&fir=_nyvO02y2ETFsM%253A%252CED1-pY-W4NgA1M%252C_&usg=__5n8B7d2E4ChvH6QtAb0EsQH5loc%3D&ved=0ahUKEwiO1-Osk5zSAhVqJ8AKHcaIATgQyjcIVg&ei=K46pWM6VJerOgAbGkYbAAw#imgrc=_nyvO02y2ETFsM: and leave it on, when the temperature is set and reached the thermostat contacts open and the webasto switches off, and comes back on when the temperature drops (all good). This all works fine for a while but then the webasto timer/controller apears to switch itself off and I have to press the flame button to start the process again........... Does anyone why this is happening ?
  9. Im looking at redesigning the shower room on my 60' narrowboat. Iam thinking of cutting the floor an sinking the shower tray so that it sits directly on the joists so I have a a bit more head height. Has anyone done this or have any other solutions ?
