  1. Thanks for the pics, that is the piece i am missing for both pumps. Looks simple enough, should be able to make something that does the same job easily enough. Thanks
  2. Hi kieron, hope your hand is ok, heres what mine looks like when the fuel pumps are on, is yours similar or am i missing bits as nothing seems to line up.
  3. Hi kieron, Would it be possible, next time you're at your boat, to take some close up photos of the rev linkages and how they connect to the fuel pumps? Cheers S Winder
  4. Mick, this is the manual that i have for the engine, is this what you have or is it different? S winder.
  5. Engine will be going in this, 39ft x 10ft tug, started building it at back end of summer, got quite a lot done during last few weeks of good weather but with clocks going back and cold weather probably wont do much over winter. Coventry victor should be a nice engine for this boat sat in its own engine room.
  6. Hi Mick and Kieron, its SWinder (not swindler, im no con man!) as far as i am aware my coventry is almost complete. Although not on the photos i do have the starter motor, alternator and both injection pumps. The only thing missing is the linkages that connect the pumps together and control the revs. due to this i have not attempted to start the engine yet, although it does turn over freely, so dont know if anything else is missing or faulty as of yet. However it would help a lot if either of you could take some photos of these linkages to give me a better idea of what i need. As for those coventry victor engines on ebay i dont think they are the same version as mine. Mine is the HDW2 which i think means mk2 whereas those for sale are both HDW probably meaning mk1's. Theres probably next to no diffrence between them but dont want to end up buying 2 more projects. What mk engine do you have? S winder
  7. Hey there, the gearbox on my coventry was made by 'BRB Precision engineering ltd'and is a type 19z 2:1 reduction.I dont think the company exists any more, however its a design of gearbox that has been produced by many different compaines over the years and is still being made by 'thamesway marine products' who call it the 'tmp type 12000 marine gearbox', which means all spares are still available. Link to web site, http://www.thameswaymarineproducts.co.uk/index.htm
  8. On the petter ph2 you can also stop the engine by lifting the fuel priming levers into the vertical postition, wait untill the engine stops then flick the levers back down.
  9. I have a Petter PH1 engine, it's an old thing but runs cleanly, previously removed from a one ton dumper. Due to its age and probably its previous life it is not fitted with an electrical starting system so needs to be hand started. The hand starting however seems strange as the engine will start easily 9 times out of 10 when cold, but is a nightmare if just run and is still warm. Just wondered if this was normal of all hand started engines.
  10. I know this post is old but just wondering if you still had you're coventry victor vixen hdw, i have one and need advice. I would add picture but dont know how???
