I'm not a man quick to form judgements, I've been lurking here for a long time watching how things are going down the pan. We had a rebellion on another forum where the owner and staff would not listen to reason, it very nearly killed that forum off. Being in the process of buying my first boat I came here to gain knowledge, that knowledge is disappearing fast. For one reason and one reason only. People aren't being transparent.

It's people like Victor, Barry and yourself that WILL drive this forum into the ground, probably without even realising it. Defending the undefendable is the wrong way to go IMHO.

I tried as an outsider and long term mod on another forum to give Daniel some independent advice. It went down like a lead balloon.

I think it would be a good idea to take the course. We have hired for years and I thought I was fairly competent until I got chatting to another boater at Tixall this year when I was explaining that my biggest problem is reversing, friendly boater man offered me some tuition. I learnt more in that couple of hours than I had in years of winging it.
