Thanks all. Does any one know the state of the slips at Chester canal basin and the one oppersite the Cheshire Cat pub.

I only have a little 18 foot steamboat but finding slipways to launch is very differcult . Can you please advise me of where there are slipsways suitable to a 18 foot boat in the North West Mike

Peel may own the docks (?) but it is CRT who look after the day to day running of the dock area. The local CRT staff are very helpful.

The cost of a boiler inspection is fairly low, with the SBA own boiler inspection service the SBAS. Last year mine was £65. (they have gone up this year).You will need to have it inspected each year. Very nice boat, Mike (My first proper post) I am the membership sec for the SBA so anyone thinking of joining or buying a steamboat ,please get message me.
