  1. I have contacted Peel holdings to see who has the waiting lists for moorings on the Bridgewater as no one seems to know including peel holdings! I am currently in the process of buying a boat and really wanted to cruise the bridgewater but moor up in winter but there are currently no moorings available other than urban splash which I really dont fancy, I am from Manchester and would not choose to live up in Droylsden!!! not a pleasant place. The problem is that you cant get a licence for the bridgewater without a mooring and with no moorings available you cant get a licence MAD!!!! I am looking for anyone who can help with advice on getting round this!! could I get a CRT licence and cruise the Bridgewater does anyone know??? I dont see the point in residential moorings as they are so expensive it seems it would be cheaper to live on dry land, they are offering residential at White Bear which I think is on the L&L, Pennington Wharf is ideal when built but no overnight stays between November and March on permanent moorings!! Stretford Marina has no available moorings and there is a waiting list of 5 nad Boothstown full with I believe a very long waiting list (who the hell has the wl is beyond me) The bridgewater seems to be a nightmare!!!! ANY ADVICE WELCOME
  2. I too am wishing to cruise the Bridgewater but as you say you cant get a licence unless got a mooring which there are none available. There is a new marina opening at Pennington Wharf but no overnight stays between November and March??? where do you go then??? they are offering residential moorings but to me that works out more expensive than living on dry land and to get your monies worth you would have to stay there the majority of the year to use there facilities which is pointless of liveaboard as you want to cruise most of the time anyhow!! Please can anyone given me advice on how to get around this!!
  3. I am looking at buying a narrow boat with a view to livaboard and would love to stay on the Bridgewater as I still work and grandchildren here, although the Bridgewater is proving to be a nightmare. I really didn't want to go down the route of a residential as I don't see the point as it is no cheaper than living on dry land and to get your monies worth you would have to stay and use the facilities as much as possible which defeats the object really!!!! I am told you cant constantly cruise the Bridgewater and are unable to get a bridgewater licence without a mooring!!! I cant find any moorings available I have telephoned everywhere and they are all full with waiting lists (I have asked who has these waiting lists but no one seems to know even Peel Holdings)???? Does anyone know of any moorings available on the Bridgewater???? I know there is a new marina opening at Pennington Wharf but no overnight stays between November and March unless you have residential mooring at a cost of 3600 which on top of council tax and all the other maintenance which goes with your boat I feel is steep. Please can anyone help and advise
