  1. Probably but better than what I had, fitted where suited me and cost me £100 inc 3 x 200a shunts. Yes more of a 'monitor' than a 'management' panel but with the small people using lots of amps it gives me a far better idea than I never had before...
  2. I'll try and answer all the above in one rather than lots of quotes.... I fitted it so I had the benefit of an aH counter, I'm happy with it because it does that - seemingly very accurately. Yes it doesn't actually manage Power but it gives you the tools to assist in managing power. I didnt previously have an ammeter anywhere or a digital voltmeter on any battery set. This gives me all of that in one, I'm yet to put port and starboard batteries through it but will be soon and will be a useful voltmeter. Channel 4 counts amps in and out so I can see the -ve used and also see when the batteries are approaching full via the amp counter which will be a useful guide with the assistance of the ammeter functionality I never previously had. One meter that does all I want it to and more in one small box rather than what would ultimately amount to three ammeters and three voltmeters on my dash and that still leaves me a spare channel for future.... did i mention it was cheap....???
  3. I can't comment on the aH counter alament yet as I've not really had the chance to test off the shore supply for any substantial period. The amps however seem very accurate, almost bang on readings with my fluke clip on. You'd think based on that the counter should be fine but you never know with these little boxes of stuff.....
  4. Just thought I'd share - I'm rather pleased with how it went..... it may not be perfect or the most expensive but I picked it up on eBay last year sometime for a bargain so am rather happy with it..... ??
  5. Does anyone know if there is punp out at or close to gunthorpe? Marina or otherwise.... (cleverly disguised as a bump post.....ah not so much) thanks Dave
  6. I'm specifically interested in pump out facilities in this direction folks....Currently at Hazleford heading towards Nottingham.....
  7. My mistake I should probably have written Gunthorpe Lock 7 on the River Trent - wasn't aware of another...sorry everyone...
  8. Hi Phil, This is sort of the reason I'm asking....this info is not correct - there is water and (limited) waste disposal at Hazleford Lock for instance that doesn't show on here as well as Water Points at Newark & perhaps others I'm unaware of.... Canalplan should show that the nearest water, waste disposal and elsan disposal are at Gunthorpe itself...but I have heard the elsan is no longer available but conversely heard there is a pump out facility there...I was hoping for input from regular visitors to Gunthorpe...
  9. Hiya, Planning a little trip.. Someone has told me there is a pump out facility at Gunthorpe but I've not seen anything in my book or CRT (lol) maps...is this correct and if so where, how etc? Also read there are next to no facilities left at Gunthorpe (being sold off?) is this correct as I think my book shows toilet at Elsan disposal....just cautious of where we plan our stops based on the available info in print and online etc... Many thanks, Dave
  10. thanks Joe...that's exactly where I'm hoping to move to. My little Atlanta is there but I've never had any (obviously) issues with that in height of depth. I've just pulled in the car park to do some fettling..... Cheers Dave
  11. Agreed, and I was thinking similar after posting. But left unattended it would've been a fine mess....
  12. Sorry Alan - obvious now. And yes totally agree...thank you again.
  13. .....and obviously turn off your water pump when not aboard.... Sat here reading through the forums. I hear a gush of water going overboard and the water pump going to the dozen....only blown a water pipe off in the engine bay for the hot water tank....that I can only think would not have been pretty had I been away from the boat or worse - asleep....
  14. Hello again Alan - thank you for your reply. Forgive my ignorance to these things DYOR? Cheers Dave
  15. Still....the opinion of Stirling doesn't appear to be great...
