    I'm free at last. 17 days after a liver transplant I'm out of hospital. A bit fragile but up and about. Enjoying the weather.

    Please put this on your status if you know or are related to someone who suffers from stupidity. People need to understand that stupidity is real and should be taken seriously. You could be sitting next to a stupid person right now. There is still no known cure for stupidity and sympathy does not help. But we can raise awareness! 53% won't re-post this because they don't know how to copy/paste

    Thanks everyone for the Birthday wishes. Had a good day, first with lots of nurses running around looking after me and doing a great job and then a family tea with loads of food, but no booze :-(

    The first false alarm last night. Got a call from the transplant unit to say they had an organ match. Spent all night at hospital having blood tests, ECG's and loads of examinations by doctors. Saw surgeon at 04:00 who said that "in the end, the liver was not viable for transplant". Back home just before five :-(

    I'm sat in bed and it feels like I was stabbed in the lung by a 7 cm long bit of plastic tube last night. Hang on a second I was and the bloody thing is still there.
