Dallow Lock at Burton on Trent is out of action due to the Anchor strap casting that holds the gate collar has been sheared off. C&RTs maintenance crew have got there work cut out with this one. Good luck to them. Tonight there were Ten boats below the lock waiting to go up.

Ive heard talk about English Nature and a local fishing club are talking about stopping boats visiting rallies such as the Shackerstone family festival saying boats are damaging the underwater ecology, In my opinion the movement of boats oxygenate the water .Even busy canals wildlife is thriving , lots of fish being caught, birds successfully nesting etc. Whats their problem ? And are we going to stand for it.
