Gearbox all fixed, many thanks for the proffessional service from Primrose Engineering! Thanks for all the help and advice Richard, also I forgot to say thanks for replacing the rusty dipstick!!! Gearbox is off, suspended by straps! Just waiting for my lad to come home from work to help lift it out....like you said Richard its heavy!

On further inspection i have found a bearing that has broken up! Looking for replacement options at the moment!

Maybe water in the system has corroded the pump?

Can the pump be repaired / replaced....or do i need to find another gearbox! Gulp!

When the engine is running should the oil pipes be under pressure? I.e disconnected from oil cooler spurting oil out....because there is nothing coming out!

I looped the oil pipe back into the gearbox as a member recommend, run it with some diesel in and drained. Popped some oil in and still no drive? Ran out of ideas and daylight so will look again in the morning!

Just spoke to them, they can match up the hoses if I bring the old ones in. Probably wouldn't have a oil cooler on the shelf, although he said he has one...about a foot long and 5" in diameter! Sounds possible!

Just one more thing! What is the little turn knob on the gearbox to the left of the filler nut?

I will have a look for a new oil cooler.....and do a flush with some diesel! Cheers for all the advice!
