Thank you ,All filters are new if its a fuel bug ,is there a additive to clear this ?,I do believe its just a elimination process.thanks for the feedback ,Mike and Tony.

Hi ,I have a problem with my BMC 1.5, I have just replaced my old engine with a rebuilt BMC 1.5,on returning from the boat yard back to my moorings the engine was lightly revving up and down,once back at the mooring we checked all pipes for leakage which there is none so we have bled the engine roughly about 6 times,it settle down for a while ticking over ok,but now it revs high then just cuts out,we had the fuel tank fitted around 8 years ago it is only a 30 ltr tank,which is all we need,would it be possible that this has some crud in the tank,which is causing the problem or is it anything else that we can check,regards.

Engine running now, traced it to a small leak on one of the filters,so it was not bad fuel let her run for about half hour all good,thanks to everyone for your advice and merry xmas to you all.

Filters where changed last summer ,have done about 15 hours since.

Sorry yes its a BMC 1500 ,all filters have been renewed last summer we have had the engine replaced in july and have had no problem until our last refuel.the fuel tank only holds 30 ltr as we change from the old tank and replaced with a smaller plastic tank as we do not do manys hours.We have also bled the engine.

Hi just wonder if some one could help with my problem ,I have mentioned this before about my engine reving up when under way,now to day started it up and after a while it has done it again but now cuts out,trying to start it again after about 5 or 6 times it starts but revs up then stops would this be bad fuel the reason I am thinking this is because the other week we filled the tank up with red diesel from a small old garage that we use, and as they do not sell a lot of red diesel could it be contaminated ?. We are going to pump out the fuel tank and drain and clean the filters and put fresh diesel in to see if this is the cause,if anybody could help with any info we would be truly grateful,many thanks.

Both fuel filters are new ,mind you one was not tight and had a very small weepage so I am hoping that this might be the problem,also the garage that we buy the red diesel from does not sell much in my area so just a thought it might be that which is the problem as well.

Hi ,I have replaced my engine with another 1500 in the summer, the replaced engine has been running fine ,this week took my boat to have a new canopy fitted which is about a two hour trip to the boat yard were it is being done, after about an hour the engine slightly revved up then reverted back to normal speed this occured about five or six times until I reached the boat yard,I did top up the fuel tank with 20ltrs of fuel,would this be a fuel problem I have fitted new injectors which I bought from Calcutt's,any info would be a great help many thanks.

If you do not have a rod licence and are caught fishing of your boat by a EA baliff they can even take the boat as it is classed as poaching I have seen this done on my local river.

Have added Wynns stop smoke oil to my bmc 1.5 has not made a difference waste of money.

Going to change the oil on my 1.5 in the past I have used a small hand pump which was hard going then invested in a electric pump which was near useless have been thinking about getting the brass pump that is fixed to the engine ,my problem is can not find where to purchase the fitting that screws to the sump have tried ASAP but they do not stock them I would be grateful if someone could give me a bit of info and also how often do you change the oil I have been doing it twice a year the engine averages about 40 hours per year running time.
