  3. Just replaced agms with sealed lead acid,don't know enough about correct maintainence to pamper agms,so considering the boat will be sitting here for 9months of the year plugged in to shore power we chose the cheapest replacement option.Even then! the sealed lead acids still cost e150 each.[France]

  10. About 22,000miles but not many in the boat due to the floods in France,good red wine,good food options and to relaxed in the marina and village to be bothered going anywhere further than the favourite village cafe.But! next year will hit the Nivernais and no doubt clock a few miles up[slowly stopping in the small towns]
  11. A good boatyard is 8klm from Vias,"Chantier Alemand",super efficient and not thieves!Had our boat lifted out there and she was 48tons.Just a pleasant run down the Herault and on the left before you go out into the Meditteranean.Coming back into the round lock at Agde you need to be a bit careful,its a bit shallow on the far side from the gate but the eclusiers are pretty good as long as you give them some notice. P.S re boatyard,I think the liftout limit may be 50tons at Agde,there is a drydock at Toulouse!
  12. Sorry Athy,thinking about a different boat.Won't put the name up as the op hasn't mentioned it.Remember seeing the Roi Soleil going past with some wine sipping ladies sitting in the spa,it looks nice.
  13. I might have the wrong barge Athy but if not she is old[looked in great condition]and riveted.
  14. Hello Aileen,we spent six months on the Midi including Vias in 2014,I know the barge and owner plus dog quite well,great bloke!Loved the barge it has plenty to offer for just a few guests and was either self catering or the owner would look after you.I'd imagine that if you got your advertising right you could have a great business welcoming paying guests.I know there were quite a few barges on the Midi then and the established barges were flat out and full,some of the lesser known ones appeared to be struggling.Will head down that way next year [leave our boat in the north]for a week or so,if you do the deal give me a yell and you've got a couple of customers.{If it is the Barge I am thinking of that is}
