  1. No, I'm not necessarily saying "don't do that" but I am saying it may not be as easy as you're suggesting and could make matters worse. So I'm just adding a note of caution. Ultimately only the OP can decide. It's very tempting to offer advice based on our own life experiences, but my time working at the Samaritans taught me that the things that work for us might not be suitable for others and people need to find their own paths. So we don't offer advice. I realise that this forum isn't a counselling service, but it's that background that informs my approach to these things.

  2. Hi Folks, It was recorded a few years ago now, 2006 to be precise, but I'm sure there will be some that will enjoy it. We were heading across the Humber Estuary, and had just left Hull's Old Harbour when a rope got trapped around the prop and rudder. Thankfully the river was busy, and we got rescued by a LASH tug, Shovette. It involved being towed against the 4 mph flow, as you can see, we weren't being towed slowly! Cheers, Mike

  6. Is it me, or do we have a thread here that turns a rather good news "no increase in licence fee" announcement into a "Conspiracy! CRT Bar Stewards" rant?

  7. Ok all done. I've loosened the nut on the water tank, fed the gas bottles and filled up the cat. All ready for when you get home!

  8. As and answer to the first question, heater hose should not be used on smooth parallel tube, you need either the serrations present or a bulge, if you wish to use heater hose between the two items I suggest you substitute 2 more hosetails for the stem adaptors, that will correctly cover that end. As for the tube interface I suggest you fit 22mm push fit or compression to 3/4" BSP fittings and 2 more hosetails, that will make a secure permanent job of it. As for the second question, I see no reason not to do as you suggest, pressures in the circuit are equal everywhere so the PRV will still function as it should, as will the expansion vessel. The filling loop is just for filling / repressurising and whilst the return pipe, close to the Webo is an ideal your suggestion will work well enough. One quick point, if you can arrange a bleed point very close to the output hose from the Webo you could save yourself some grief with air locks in the heat exchanger during commissioning and in the future.

  10. Just wanted to help anyone reading this who may think that any car diesel engine would do. I thought that was being helpful, the purpose of this forum I believe.

  11. Buy a sheep. Walk it with your own dog. If they get attacked, you can legitimately shoot the aggressive dog for sheep worrying. Sorted.

  13. It's not just boaters that do this either, motorhomers also do it. I once parked up in a spot in the Spanish countryside about 5 miles from the nearest paved road. After a while a German plated camper parked up about 6 inches from my rear bumper and then knocked on my door to complain my music was too loud. I had a 1500w stereo system in my motorhome so I demonstrated what loud actually sounded like with some hard techno and he soon left.
