koukouvagia Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Friends of Kathryn Dodington (Leo2) will be sorry to hear that she's had an accident and broken her hip and won't be active on Sculptor for a few months. She's set up a blog http://kdprogress.blogspot.co.uk My very best wishes.
RLWP Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Do we know where she is now? Her tiny house (of which she is very proud) will be quite a challenge with a broken hip Richard
cuthound Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Sorry to hear this. I wish you a speedy recovery Leo2.
dave moore Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 If anyone visits, please convey our best wishes for a speedy recovery. Any info gratefully received as to the ongoing situation, by PM if preferred. We are old friends.... Dave
ditchcrawler Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 I see from her blog that David Blagrove is in there as well.
Bettie Boo Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Get well soon - hopefully you'll be up and about just in time for the Christmas festivities
Leo No2 Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Thanks for your kind words. In Northampton General for the time being. The challenge is going to be bridging the gap between being mobile and stable enough to leave here and being mobile and stable enough to go home. Richard's comment about my house is sadly quite accurate. No weight bearing for 3 months and no driving for the same period is the best estimate at the moment. T'was just an accident behind the museum - just one of those things life throws at you and I'll have to find ways and means of making things work for me. On the positive side the consultant is very dishy in my view!
Ray T Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Sorry to hear of this - get well soon. Judith & Ray.
churchward Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Oh dear, painful. get well soon Leo2
nicknorman Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Very sorry to hear of your troubles. 3 months of no driving is annoying. 3 months of no boating is a disaster!
sueb Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Hope you heal quickly. Please remember us to David Blagrove and give him our best wishes. Roger & Sue
David Mack Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
alan_fincher Posted November 10, 2015 Report Posted November 10, 2015 My sympathies Kathryn. I smashed my pelvis about five and a half years ago now, and although the initial recovery went well, I seem likely to be saddled with the side effects of the injury until the point I may eventually be deemed to need a new joint. Although it sounds as if you will have a longer enforced period of not doing a lot than I did, hopefully the nature of your injury will be sufficiently different to not leave you with a long term legacy.
Jay4424 Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 not good, at least your not missing out on sunny festivals! hope you recover quickly, being an active type you should. Jay.
John V Posted November 11, 2015 Report Posted November 11, 2015 my best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery .....JohnV
