awatsonbcp Posted January 26, 2005 Report Posted January 26, 2005 Hi Folks, Can anyone tell me the correct lighting procedure for these heaters. Many Thanks Tom <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you press in the button that turns up the gas.you will hear it hiss as it comes through the heater.you keep it pressed in and push in the black igniter button which should light the pilot light.keep pressing in the other button or the pilot will go out!hold it in for about 45 seconds and then let it out and turn the dial round to half or full power.you wont see any flames as it is catalytic but it will glow eventually.you can tell if the gas is coming through by a slight hiss. they are fitted with thermal cutout so if the pilot isnt hot enough at first the fire will cut out and you will need to start all over again. good luck! i have taken mine off as you cant get spares and they are not room sealed.if you keep them i strongly advise you to fit a good CO detector with a digital readout. i still have the instuction manual which i can send you if you want? alan
