Anyone give me a clue where these photos were taken:

1, Stroudwater Canal http://www.towpathtreks.co.uk/aboutphotodisplay.asp?ino=667

2, BCN: http://www.towpathtreks.co.uk/aboutphotodisplay.asp?ino=666

3, BCN: http://www.towpathtreks.co.uk/aboutphotodisplay.asp?ino=665

4, Basingstoke Canal: http://www.towpathtreks.co.uk/aboutphotodisplay.asp?ino=664

I haven't a clue about any of those canals, only been on the BCN myself and that was years ago.

All of the B.C.N. photographs are located at Old Turn and Farmers Bridge top lock (about 200 yards apart). They date from the mid 1970's (Longboat pub in the same photograph as the old brick Tindall Bridge - replaced by a concrete bridge by 1978). The two boats in that photograph are the Small Woolwich butty HYADES and the B.W.B. maintenance tug BITTELL, the latter was looked after by Charlie Atkins Jnr. who was also the lock keeper of Farmers Bridge / Aston / Ashted flights.

Thats Lock 25 on the Basingstoke. As others pointed out rightly its the Deepcut flight. Lock 25 is the one that has a bridge crossing over the top of the chamber.
