Keeping Dogs Cool In Hot Weather

I have a pair of Salukis.

Being desert dogs I have never known them to overheat and have never seen them pant.

They hardly ever drink either. They hate water and look at me as if I am about to torture them if I force them outside in the slightest rain.

Keeping them warm in winter is more of a challenge and, even with their sheepskin coats on, they are still shivering and reluctant to move away from the fire.

Both our staffies swim really well and compete with each other to fetch a ball in the water. Getting them soaked helps keep them cool as well.
